Chelsea Investments Limited, London.

About Us

Chelsea Investments Limited started giving financial advice in 2000 in response to a growing demand from Chelsea Financial Services (CFS) clients who wanted more than just an execution-only service. In 2003, we purchased Finance Matters, a small south-west London IFA and in 2007, we purchased the servicing of Equal Partners UK Ltd, a larger city-based IFA, formally run by Vivienne Starkey who sadly passed away.

We aim to give jargon-free, cost-effective financial advice to businesses and individual clients alike. Please see below for profiles of our key staff.

Dr John Holder – Chairman

After completing a PhD in Biochemstry at Hull University, John originally started work as a teacher but then moved into the city to work for Hambro Life. On seeing an opportunity to rebate to clients some of the commission payable to financial advisers, John founded Chelsea Financial Services in 1983.

Although the firm started slowly with many fund groups refusing to deal with them, CFS shone through and discount broking was born. Advice was originally given to customers but when the Financial Service Authority wanted clear water between execution-only business and advice, Chelsea Investments Limited was formed.

John is still chairman of both companies and relaxes by playing golf and going skiing.

Neil Wilson – Managing Director

After a short placement at HM Treasury, Neil originally joined our sister company, Chelsea Financial Services with a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Surrey. After 3 years working on the execution-only side of the business and after successfully completing the financial planning certificate (FPC), Neil joined Chelsea Investments. In 2007, Neil was promoted to the role of Investment Director.

In 2011, Neil was granted Chartered Status by the Chartered Insurance Institute after successfully completing the advanced diploma in financial planning. He was subsequently promoted to roll of Managing Director.

In his spare time, Neil chairs and plays for his university alumni football club (UniS Old Boys FC) and enjoys spending time with his two young children.

Ann Watcyn Pugh – Director

Ann joined Chelsea Financial Services in 1984 after obtaining a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of London. In 1990, she moved into the city with Fiona Price and Partners, an all-female firm. John approached Ann in 1996 and she became the Marketing Consultant for CFS, before setting up Chelsea Investments Ltd with John, when it became clear that many of the Chelsea clients needed financial advice.

As well as being fully qualified in financial services, Ann’s broader interests include various qualifications in advanced power boating, languages and music.
